Things that are driving me nuts today
Jan. 8th, 2012 01:27 pmOkay it's actually just one thing driving me nuts today.
My husband and I own a revolver and the last time I saw the gun it was with our rifle in the master bedroom closet. After we returned home from visiting my parents in Texas I decided to go and get the revolver out and see how much ammo I have so I could go to the rifle range and practice shooting my revolver. Great plan, except, the gun isn't where I last remember seeing it. :(
Today I searched all over my house, in every single dresser drawer, I took everything out of the closet, and looked on top of every bookcase and under the couches. None of the regular places I would hide a gun are hiding my gun. At this point I really want to know where the hell my gun is. Our house isn't that big and I hate the idea of dropping the search until we someday move to another house, at which point I'm sure the gun will turn up as all missing items tend to do during a move.
I'm 99% sure that my husband didn't move it because he's not a big fan of guns or rifles and I wouldn't put the gun in a location I could not reach so it's a real mystery as to where it went. I don't think it was stolen because the rifle is worth a lot more money than the revolver and the rifle hasn't moved. I'm going nuts just thinking about it.
I searched for over an hour with no luck so I think I'm going to check my flist and take a break from the search for now.
In other news, I got a job that starts on Monday. I'm very excited about it because it's a Librarian I cataloging position for the Department of Fish and Game.

I found it funny that overall I enjoyed the cartoons more than most of the live action TV shows I also watch.
Misfits is the show that completely took me by surprise at how much I loved it. None of the characters were immediately likeable but they felt like real people and I truly grew to love all the characters. The show is also hilarious and I just wish there was more of it.
I was also very happy at the quality invested in Game of Thrones. I was worried it would be like Legend of the Seeker. (Not that I didn't find Legend of the Seeker highly entertaining but it had a rocky start).
The show I don't admit to loving in public is the My Little Ponies, though my sister and I talk about it over the phone because she's watching it with her kids. But MLP is the show that makes me happy and is so funny and heartwarming. I need that in my life.
I also can't express how much I'm loving Young Justice. It's the show I have to watch right away. I love the entire team of characters and I'm interested in seeing what they do next.
Justice League lured me in and next thing I knew I was staying up late watching one episode after another and then I went and found all the movies and stayed up late watching those too! I discovered that I love Wonder Women, Hawkgirl, and Black Canary. I also loved John Stewart's Green Lantern (why they didn't use him in the last Green Lantern movie boggles my mind!).
Avatar I should have watched sooner because so many people had told me how awesome it was, and it was AWESOME! I couldn't stop watching once I started and season 2 broke my heart and then season 3 put it back together again. I wish I had the words to adequately express my intense love for all the characters and their journeys. I also appreciate that the writers didn't drag out the story until it was full of filler.
Doctor Who is Doctor Who. I love Matt Smith as the Doctor and Amy, Rory, River.

Looking for a Harry Potter story
Dec. 27th, 2011 07:31 pmI'm trying to find a story I read some time ago where Dudley finds out/figures out that his parents are abusive to Harry and he helps Harry. I don't know why I didn't bookmark the story because I remember it was awesome and now I can't find it again.

aldora89 - The Lotus Eaters INSTANT REC!!! This was an excellent story to read while trapped on a plane because it completely sucked me into the story and kept me entertained for hours. I loved the concept, the imagery was vivid and interesting. I also loved the relationship buildup. This was a truly awesome story.

Once Upon a Time
Dec. 13th, 2011 09:55 pmI'm finally caught up with Once Upon a Time and at first I wasn't sure if I was enjoying the show but after the last episode I really can't wait to see what they do next. I think I tend to enjoy TV more when I can watch two or three episodes at a time.

I think I may have ADHD

Dec. 6th, 2011 07:49 pmI'm back from visiting my family in Texas. It was loud, I ate a ton of awesome food, and my niece can talk! I'm glad I had the chance to visit. :) Having said that, it's still kind of nice to be back home again. I missed my cats.
In other news, I'm still applying for jobs. Tomorrow I'm going to revise my resume again to see if I can make it better. I'm trying to stay optimistic and positive about finding a job and there are days I feel overwhelmed and it's all I can do to not give up. My husband has been awesome and supportive. He listens and encourages me to not give up.
I'm also graduating December 16. It's taken me two and half years to reach this point and it will be nice to be finished with school. :)
