I think there are ways to make both sets of people happy including the writer. Just have a completed version available for those that can and want to read it in one go or however they decide to read it, and post one chapter a day. that's what I planned to do when I post my larger stories on LJ.

It's more work to post chaptered parts...but if it helps some readers read the fic better it'll probably be worth it.
