Update from Fort Nelson, Canada
I finished my concept briefing!!!! Hurray for me. :) Not sure how well it's going to turn out but I figured something turned in is certainly better than a big fat 0. It took me almost all day to finish it, well okay more like 6 hours, but that's not counting research time and making sure my references were correct. (I'm afraid I almost certainly messed up one of them?) My draft 3 preliminary I turned in with nothing added, I figured I'm the one missing out on having someone peer review my paper however...just haven't had time to start draft 3. But I'm hoping the professor only cares that we peer review someone else's paper. So I'm hopeful I'll still get my 3 points there.
It's halloween night and it's kind of quiet now that the town fireworks have stopped. It's also very cold up here as I discovered this morning when I went to subway to grab breakfast/dinner. I'm going to not worry about homework until i reach Anchorage which with any luck will be Sunday evening. There are some scary movies on tv but all of them have commericals so it's not all that much fun to watch. I may just read a bit.
To be honest, I really feel like I could use the break. These last 4 days have been very stressful for me and I'm beginning to worry that my husband will no longer want to talk to me over the phone since every night this week when I've called him I've burst into tears. Not sure why hearing his voice makes me cry, it's probably because we've been apart for four weeks now and I'm completely out of my comfort zone. And well it's weird but he's the one I turn to when I'm scared or need reassurance. But really he's been great, when I got to Dawson Creek two nights ago and found out every single motel/hotel room in the town was booked he called ahead to the next town and found me a room while I drove another 40 minutes after driving 11 hours that day. And he did all this after I called him crying because I was exhuasted and couldn't find a place to stay for the night. Honestly, it never occurred to me that I would run into trouble finding a room and then I was a bit mad at myself for not stopping two hours earlier at Grand Prairie where there were a ton of motels and hotels and food places. Before I leave here tomorrow morning I think I'm going to get the number for a motel in Whitehorse so I can call ahead and make a reservation.
Also subway is great and all but I really need to find another place to eat. I'm also listening to the audiobook Holes and it's so much fun. I have the HP audio books but for some reason chapter 1 takes the reader 30 minutes to read???? Not sure what is up with that and I don't have enough disks to create a complete audio book. So I made a Stardust audio book to listen to tomorrow instead. The audiobook really helped pass the time in the car. I hope I like Stardust.
p.s. This is my second night in Fort Nelson. Last night I just couldn't finish the assignment so I decided to stay the extra day since I skipped out on staying 2 days in Edmonton. In fact, I didn't stay any days at Edmonton, I drove right on past.
