I know just what you mean, but I hope you won't stop reccing in the same manner as you have done so far for you are a steady source of advice on what is worth reading.

If it helps at all, I rely on you everyday to point the way to whatever new fics I could enjoy. There's so much stuff out there and a lot of it is pretty mediocre. If you want to be more discriminating, you can always indicate which are keepers, so to speak, and which fics are worth at least one go.

I download into my own archives stories I will read again, but there's a lot of stuff I read once and do not revisit again. Fact is, even the writers of certain fics don't think of them as keepers either, though they may not necessarily be the same ones you think of as 'fast food'.

It was really good to read your post. :) Chances are I won't stop reccing the way I normally rec because at this point it really is habit to copy the link address add the LJ user afterwards and say, wow good story! or something to that effect. :)

It's just this morning I was wondering if I should try and become more selective or not and save myself a minute here or there. also it just doesn't seem right that most of the stories I read I end up reccing. I'm wondering if my standards really went down or everyone else just got better at writing...um anyway, I really appreciate your opinion. It's one of the reasons I made my post, wanting to get some feedback and so far it looks like you aren't the only one that appreciates the recs. :)
