Weird obsession

For the last six months or so I've been obessing over getting a pet dog, it's actually pretty bad, I don't have a dog. Yet I find myself browsing Petsmart and Petco websites looking at all the cute dog toys and trying to get an idea of how much it would cost to get the essential items...that's not to mention all the time I've spent looking up dog breeders (trying to find a shih-tzu dog breeder) I'm not sure why I'm so obessed with finding a pet? Or where this came from? I guess maybe growing up with dogs in my family it seems like something is missing because there is no dog? hell I remember how much I hated babysitting my parents dogs because you couldn't just sleep in on the weekends the dogs need to go outside sometime even during bad weather...but they have their nice points too.

My husband says I have some kind of nesting instincts or something like that. But the thing is I have real, honest-to-goodness nightmares about getting pregnate and having babies. Yet....I have had happy dreams with dogs and puppies in them. Maybe because I'm so scared of babies I'm repressing a natural instinct to have one and am instead focusing on getting a dog, which really isn't as scary as having a baby, and also not as expensive.

Um anyway, I'm convinced the human mind is kind of fuckd up.

petfinder.com links to a lot of rescue organizations in your area and is searchable by breed if you have your heart set on a shih-tzu. Giving an unwanted animal a second chance for Christmas is an awesome way to celebrate the hollidays ;)

I just finished looking there. :) Petco had a link to petfinder and I kind of like the idea of getting a mixed shih tzu and there are some cuties. :) Now I just need to convince my husband that our apartment isn't too small for a dog.

I take my oversized bundle of hair to the dogpark and let him run off all his maniacal energy. That way when he's home he kinda lays around like a slug.
