Things are good and bad.

The good, I'm reading this wonderfully hilarious Stephenie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I just about died on book two. I didn't think I'd like these books because well it's not technically romane, sci-fi, or fantasy...however the character is charming and the dialogue kills me. So anyways, I'm on book 3 and apparently I have 11 more to go. This means that I'll probably be reading these for the next week or two more so than fan fiction.

So that's kind of the bad news fandomwise, I'm probably not going to recommend a lot of stuff in the upcoming days.

The other bad news is the EVIL One aka Grey.

has chewed yet ANOTHER Dell Inspiron 6000 AC power adapter cable. I just got a new one last year! So luckily a little bit of electric tape later I got it working again, and I've already ordered a new backup cable from the same place I got one last year. The good news on that is that it was 20 dollars cheaper this year than last.

Now me and my SO are going to get chinese and see a movie.

When I get back I plan on converting the rest of the Paul F. Wilson's Repairman Jack series into LRF files so I can read the two newest books that just came out. :) This is another series I can't recommend enough.

ETA: okay this was supposed to post before we went to the movies...so here's the update from the movie front. I have a BIG crush on Zachary Efron, loved him in 17Again, I laughed a lot of times and really enjoyed the movie.

Finished reading Martha Well's Reliquary (actually finished it a week ago, meant to write how much I loved the story but got distracted) in any case wonderful story. Once I got into the story I couldn't put it down. :) I'm also reading Anne Bishop's Black Jewel Trilogy (need to get third book sometime this weekend) pretty good so far.

Second...I haven't finished my vid tonight, mostly because I was reading fan fiction instead. :( But on the plus side the fan fiction was awesome. :)

third, someone else made a music video for SGA using the same song I used in my video. Captain Nemo...I downloaded and watched. Part of me was hoping it wouldn't be better than my video...but another part was hoping it would be better because I love watching really good vids and I still love this song. I was dissapointed in the video, basically just about everything that you can do wrong in a video she did it. (to be more specific I had issues with the timing, clip choices, lack of story, and I just didn't feel it. However there are some people who enjoyed the video so maybe I'm just too critical) This is the first time I made a vid and someone used the same song for their vid.

Okay and I think that's all for today. I'm goingto take a shower and try to get to bed by 1130 latest. This morning at work I took allergy medicine (big mistake since I don't have any of the non-drowsy kind) but I think if I was more awake to begin with it owuldn't have made me so sleepy. (though to be fair to myself I'm not exactly a morning person). It takes me about 5 hours and another meal aka lunch before I'm really awake.

I think next week I'll be done spamming my flist about this new job. I'm still WAY to excited about the fact that I'm working. It's kind of scary. Okay I'll probably be done by tonight because tomorrow I really need to work on my vid if I'm going to post it in time to be eligble for voting.

I finally finished reading the book. I'm actually rather amazed it kept me up way past the time I'd normally go to bed. the last three books were BORING, but I got through them by skimming and skipping chapters. I think Robert Jordan got a new editor or something because this book didn't have nearly as much bullshit and the story actually progressed!!! Hurray...I think there are only 1 or 2 more books left and now I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out. :)

Finished reading the trilogy, overall I liked it, but I don't think it's a series that is enough fun to read more than once. Maybe it was too high fantasy?? I just didn't get into any the characters...I guess they seemed like plot devices.

Okay I think this is the first book I've read in a long time that didn't have any sci-fi/supernatural/fantasy elements, and I liked the story a lot. :) I love the way the story unfolded and the language, the descriptions.

The story made me think about what it must have been like in the 50's and if americans still think the same way.

anyway I really enjoyed the story and I think it's worth recommending. I finished it a few days ago but haven't had the time to write in my livejournal.

Okay now that I got my bitchfest out of the way, I can write about something I've wanted to for the last few days but have not had the time.

When I picked up this book, I expected to plod through it like have with so many novels I've tried recently. (except the Time Traveler's Wife) Lucky for me, I was wrong, with this trilogy, I was glued to the books from first page to last page. The story was interesting, the writing style kept my attention, and I liked the characters. For fantasy, I think the author did a realistic job within the realms of her universe.

Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon

I hope I spelled her name correctly. I recently read these two books and I loved them, for once all the bad guys in the story seemed more interested in the handsome hero than the beautiful herione. :) It hit many of my kinks, though I'll admit it took me about 60 pages and being stuck on an airplane for 8 hours before I could open my mind to liking the book.

Now this is where it gets sad. This author wrote these two wonderful stories and then she continued writing books for this series. Voyager was not bad, but not nearly as exciting as her first two efforts, then she followed it up by a dreadfully boring Drums of Autumn and her last book the Fiery Cross I could not even get past the second chapter. I'm not sure what happened to this author to compel her to write such lengthy boring books, but I wish she'd stop. short is okay, someone should tell her.

Okay I finished reading the Black House and now I'm really curious to see what is happening in the Dark Tower universe! Jack Sawyer is still one of my favorite characters, and I hope he shows up again in other books. :)

I'm now reading Stephen King's It, this was the first adult novel I'd ever read when I was 11 years old. I remember that it took me an month of my summer to finish reading this book, I spent the rest of the summer reading his other books. And from there I branched out in different directions of interests.
