Heaven Official's Blessing : Tian Guan Ci Fu - novel rec!

It took two weeks but I finally finished reading all 8 volumes. I had a blast, the story made me cry, laugh out loud, and I loved the world building and the characters really grew on me. I highly recommend this book. If anyone has any fan fiction, music vids, or art recs I'd love to hear from fellow fans of this novel.

Next up, I'll try the TV show version. I've seen vids and the animation is beautiful.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that enjoyed the story. I have no idea how anyone would adapt this story to live action...well not unless they had a really good special effects budget!

I live in (the probably false) hope that one day we'll get to see what they did with the live action version. But until then, at least we have the donghua, which I have only seen the first season of, but will eventually get around to the second.

I like Xie Lian a whole lot, and San Lang too, obviously. Wind Master and their Beloved Hater are endlessly fascinating too :D

Of the three MXTX books, I enjoyed SVSSS the most, but TGCF is a close second :D

I'm planning to read SVSSS next. :)

TGCF had so many potential slash pairings it was amazing! I cried during the Wind Master story arch and finding out how he became a good. I also loved Xie Lian's childhood friends/servants and their endless bickering.

I'm also holding out hope that maybe with a change in leadership the live action show may have a chance to see the light of day.

What I found interesting about the book is that it's a love story/action adventure but it was PG for the most part when it came to sex.

Yeah, TGCF was good for side pairings for sure :D There's actually a canon secondary pairing in SVSSS so that's fun.

My fave part of Feng Xin & Mu Qing were fucking hilarious, especially when they were finding all those statues Hua Cheng carved of Xie Lian. LOL

And yeah, I appreciate how much plot is in TGCF. SVSSS is more relationship focused, but there is still a great deal of plot which I enjoy. :D

I loved the part where they found all the statues too! Feng Xin & Mu Qing were good friends to Xie Lian. They didn't hesitate to say WTF we have to help Xie Lian get away from this guy.

I just finished reading it today and I loved it! I loved the big, complex plot, the relationship, and so many wonderful characters. I watched seasons 1-2 of the donghua and I thought it was really good.
