Okay I think this is the first book I've read in a long time that didn't have any sci-fi/supernatural/fantasy elements, and I liked the story a lot. :) I love the way the story unfolded and the language, the descriptions.

The story made me think about what it must have been like in the 50's and if americans still think the same way.

anyway I really enjoyed the story and I think it's worth recommending. I finished it a few days ago but haven't had the time to write in my livejournal.

Oh dear :-)

Honey darling, I'm really-really sorry if you don't like it, but I have a fic on my LJ that is my brithday present for you. The problem is it is in the fandom you likely don't know - it is Laura Joh Rowland's books (I was talking about them all the time a while ago). But someone told me the story works without knowledge of the fandom, and it is bloody and non-consensual, so I thought you might enjoy it. Anyway, I am just getting out of my writer's block, and I did promise the first one will be for you :-) I hope it won't disappoint you too much!!!

HI! ^___^ I haven't read the book, but I stumbled upon your LJ via Juxian, and I just had to drop by and say hi. Remember me? Sailor Gotland? ^^;; I'm so sorry we got out of touch like that... Anyway, great to see you, girl! :D
