amalthia: (Children of Dune Alia)
I've been AWOL lately. This weekend I decided to cut back computer usage and instead finished watching the rest of Smallville season 10, saw X-Men First Class, and I've been reading a lot of DCU fan fiction on my Sony PRS.

School starts tomorrow and I'm taking two grad school level classes in five weeks. I'm not sure how fast it's going to be or what the workload is going to be like so I've been enjoying my three week vacation from school to the fullest. Which means watching lots of TV and enjoying the fic.

I finally got around to watching Under the Red Hood and Young Justice. I still have the Batman Adventures to watch. I'm having a blast with this fandom. :) There is so much canon. I'm still sort of waiting to get an Ipad or Xoom before reading the comics. In the meantime, the comic wiki sites are pretty good to get information about the characters. And I hope they have instructions on how to read the comics. I've seen panels but I'm not sure which box to read first?

I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed with DCU because I don't even think I got into Smallville the way I'm into the Batman stories. But I'm enjoying it.

Everything else I normally do has sort of fallen along the wayside in terms of posting recs and updating the Ebook Library. Now that the A03 has the ebook download options I'm not sure if the Ebook Library is as helpful or as necessary as it was in the past. Though not all authors post to the A03 so I may focus on adding stories from authors who aren't on the A03 so ebook versions of their works are available somewhere. As for rec posts...I think because I've been cutting back my computer use at home I just haven't been doing it as much, or I find myself posting a month's worth of recs at once when my neck and wrists aren't in too much pain.

All in all, I think a vacation away from archiving has been good this is the first time in weeks that my neck isn't hurting. I also feel more relaxed and not as burned out as I did a month ago. :) It's funny how watching TV/crocheting granny squares all weekend can help relieve pain.

My main goal this week is to find out how to combine all these granny squares I've made.
