House inspection
Jul. 26th, 2007 10:11 pmOkay I feel physically and mentally exhuasted. I had no idea an house inspection could last almost 4 hours. but I think I still prefer that to a rush job.
Basically the house my husband and I liked looks okay overall except the AC is completely fubar. (and the air-intake is like right up against the wall and was super loud and obnoxious because of sitting it further back in the attic and adding insulation and other things to muffle the noise they decided to forgo all that...)
And my husband is in scotland. I'm having mixed feelings and would really like to talk to him.
The thing is most of the things i'm so-so about in the house I think would be easy to fix or replace, the AC is the bigger issue but not sure if I should complain about the house having all these problems because well it was built in 82 and we are paying just under 80k...
My parents want us to try and get a newer home with a garage and not move into a duplex...
I think if the AC is fixed that would be good. but I'm not sure how much it'll cost to replace scary toliets, sliding glass doors, and add screens to all the windows. I think I'll have to do some research. I don't want to throw away a good thing because I'm getting overwhelmed by all the repairs and modifications I think the place will need. And I don't want to have to buy a 150k home just because the bathrooms are bigger. (seriously I don't spend that much time hanging out in the bathroom...not sure why I care so much about countertop space)
I haven't read anything today and this weekend I"m going to a babyshower for my sister-in-law so not sure how much internet time I'll have. The good news on that front is I did find something I think my brother and new sister will like for the baby. I got them a portable baby play cage, with a bassinet (which I guess is where the baby sleeps???) anyway it looked cute and cost way way too much but I think they'll find it comes in very handy. Seriously, shopping for baby stuff at Target would have been more fun with company/help, I felt like I was entering a foreign country that and half the items weren't even in the store. I guess lots of people need baby stuff. I did try to find some chew toys for the kid but I think i may actually have to visit the pet section for the cute and fluffy toys. I swear dogs get better toys than babies.
So this evening I got chores done around the apartment, made a salad and spagetti, and kind of watched 2 more episodes of 4400. and now i'm resting my feet.
