amalthiaI got to see the movie. I liked parts, like when collin farell is kissing other men, but I just could not get into any of the characters. I mean if Hepasthion is going to be the love of Alexander's life, why don't they actually have a real conversation??? Or any real interaction together? I think Legolas and Aragorn had more interaction in LOTR and they were just friends.
I just feel that if you are going to make a charcter bisexual they should at least go at it 100% not half-ass it through the movie. Jared Leto is normally a very handsome man but in this movie it's like they put on make-up to make him look uglier or something. :(
anyway I was dissapointed to seome extint because the story was murky, I felt like laughing every time Angeline Jolie opened her mouth and talked (she sounded like the bride of dracula), the battles were dissapointing and confusing. I wanted to see this battle formation Alexander's army was so famous for.
Hopefully the next Alexander movie will make more sense...though I'm not sure if Leonardo DeCaprio would make a better Alexander than Farell...though I will say one thing about DeCaprio, the man can act and is not shy.

Date: 2004-11-27 07:54 am (UTC)And about their interaction... like I mentioned in my blog, they really did sort of strip him of any important role he may have had with Alexander as well as his masculinity. It's like he was less than a woman when he was Alexander's confidant. I didn't like that at all. They made him into this very femmy boy who was always quiet and we assumed fought but got socked in the face and didn't do anything. I was very annoyed by that.
