Teaching certification
Aug. 30th, 2005 03:35 pmI've just spent the last three hours researching all the alternate teaching certification programs in the Houston area. Anyway, now I just need to decide which program works best for me and get the paperwork going.
Right now I feel like kicking myself in the head for not doing this while I was already in college because I think it might have been easier to get certified as a teacher while I was still an undergrad, plus I might have had the option to teach higher grade levels.
Sure it's easier to intimidate 1st graders but I really hated, when I substitute teached, walking them to lunch, the bathroom, and to PE/Music. However, I guess it's better than having 7th graders a foot taller than me refuse to do what I tell them to do.
Not sure if teaching is really worth all the trouble it takes to get certified but I need a job and teaching pays more than any of the other jobs I've found, that aren't calling back or hiring me.
