WIP Amesty story

I started writing this over a month ago but it just never went anywhere and I lost interest in the idea of doing Battle Royal type story with the Atlantis team. so anyway now I'm posting it a few days late I think for the
wip_amnesty but figured what the hell....
*Beep* *Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
The incessant beeping of his watch alarm drove a spike through Rodney's head. Groggy with blood vessels in his head throbbing with every heartbeat he choked back a whimper of pain. His alarm continued to beep and for some reason he couldn't move his hands to turn it off.
"Rodney," Telya's soft voice kept the panic building in his chest at bay. "Are you all right?"
In agony, he rolled onto his side, which wasn't a good idea with both arms tied behind his back. All the weight rested on one arm, he gagged and almost threw up from the pain. Only the thought that he might fall into his own puke helped him gain control over his stomach. Gradually he was able to make out light, then brown shapes, he turned his head to the side and saw Teyla lying next to him, blood crusted on her brow, her arms were also tied behind her back.
Her gear was gone, vest, rifle, pistol harness, jacket, everything except her shirt and pants and boots. It only took him a moment to realize his situation was similar to hers. Panic set in.
"Where's Sheppard, Ronon?" He strained his neck trying to see more of the room. "How did we get here?"
The beeping on his watch continued in counter point to his rough breathing. Teyla licked her lips, "I'm not sure. I was hoping you knew. I fear we have been drugged."
Rodney closed his eyes and tried to think back to what he last remembered. "We're on PX-969 right? The planet with the strange energy readings? The last thing I remember was walking behind Sheppard in the forest..." He struggled to remember more than same old trees, roots, branches and Sheppard's dark hair and annoying smirk.
"I don't recall leaving on the mission. Just this morning's briefing." Her serene voice held a note of disquiet.
"We must have been captured sometime before or after we reached the site where the UAV spotted the energy source." The energy source that potentially held enough power to be a ZPM. The planet had looked safe from their initial scans, and the site was not too far from the gate, which is why they were walking instead of taking a puddle jumper. Not enough Jumpers to go around.
"Is there anyway to turn off your alarm?" Teyla raised her eyebrow, her cheek against the dirt, and forehead wrinkled in pain.
He twisted his hands against his bonds, which were coarse rope, and used his thumb to hit at buttons until the alarm went silent.
"Thank you," Teyla whispered and closed her eyes, she looked like she was about to fall asleep.
"Teyla, how bad is your head hurting?"
"Bad. I think someone must have hit me, I feel blood in my hair."
"Don't fall asleep, you could have a concussion." Rodney didn't want to lose Teyla.
She nodded and opened her eyes again. "I will try and remain awake, just in case." She assured him.
With every passing minute alertness returned to him, and the pain in his body increased, he rolled back over onto his back to reduce the strain on his shoulder. The room was tiny, and the ceiling wasn't a ceiling as much as bamboo bars stretched across the top of the hole in the ground. They were in a hole. The light now that he could see better was obviously sunlight.
Rodney lost track of time, waiting for someone to come and let them know what was going on. During the wait he managed to sit up and lean against the dirt wall. Teyla required some coaxing but she got up too and leaned against him, he saw where she was hit on the head, and was glad that the blow hadn't killed her.
His stomach grumbled and he did some breathing exercises Teyla taught him, they didn't help. He knew if he didn't get food soon his blood sugar would drop and continue to drop until he went into a coma.
Before Rodney finished making out his last Will and Testament, in which Sheppard got zero of his cool toys, the bad guys showed up.
The bamboo ceiling lifted and arms reached down, grabbed him, and pulled him up without further ado. Teyla kicked and struggled when their captors grabbed her. Weak and disoriented Rodney didn't fight as he was dragged into the center of a clearing of stone pillars. Rodney saw Sheppard and Ronon kneeling, gearless, next to fifteen other people he didn't recognize. White robed men and woman stood with weapons around the clearing.
At the edge of the circle he was forced to his knees next to Sheppard. Teyla panting was pushed down next to him, she landed on her face more than her knees and he winced in sympathy for her as the men dragged her by the shirt onto her knees. A man with a white robe came to them. Instead of carrying a weapon he held two metallic collars in his hands.
Anxious, Rodney leaned back. A rough hand on his shoulder kept him in place. The collar snapped on with a click. It fit snuggly, and the metal warmed within seconds. Dazed, Teyla looked barely conscious as the man snapped the collar around her neck.
"What's going on?" Rodney asked Sheppard.
John frowned and shook his head, glaring at him to be silent. It only took him a year to figure out John's sign language of facial expressions.
However, John's warning came too late. Pain unlike any he'd ever felt before hit him he doubled over screaming, everything hurt all at once like being burned alive except none of his nerves were burned away, they just kept hurting. Then it stopped. The clearing was silent except for his sobs as he tried to regain control over his body after whatever the hell that was did this to him.
"You are not allowed to speak." A woman with black hair spoke to him in her hand he saw a small remote control. "Next time we'll just kill you."
Everyone was told to stand and they followed their captors into a room with tables and food. Rodney followed Sheppard's lead terrified and praying that when Elizabeth sent backup they used a cloaked Jumper. Once they had all sat down, a man went down the rows cutting the bonds on their wrists. Rodney stared at the other people they all looked stunned and confused.
Once his wrists were free he massaged his wrists, avoiding the bloody bruises. Rodney hoped the lack of blood circulating to his fingers didn't damage his hands. Red welts much like his own were visible on Sheppard's and Ronon's wrists. Teyla had a ring but not near the same amount of damage. He grabbed her hand under the table and she squeezed back and smiled bravely.
He let go of her hand and reached for the bread on his plate, surely they were meant to eat the food, right? Before he reached the plate, Sheppard grabbed his wrist and squeezed. Rodney looked up and saw the woman with the remote control in her hand, her eyes narrowed in his direction. He then noticed that no one else was eating. Once Sheppard let go of his wrist, Rodney put his hand down on the edge of the table.
Sheppard slapped his hand when he reached for the dinner roll on the plate in front of him.
After about five minutes in which Rodney grew increasingly weak and faint from hunger. A tall old man entered the building. He walked past them on the way up to the dais at the front of the building in the center.
"I am Ka'tal, leader of the Tolar'ian Order, you are all here as part of a yearly event my people hold. Every year our order scouts the galaxy for twenty men and women to participate in this contest to the death. The winner will earn the right to live on our planet in safety from the Wraith."
Did he miss something?
"...each contestant shall be provided with a weapon and a bag of supplies, enough for three days. At the end of three days if more than one person with a collar on is alive all the collars will explode. If you try to tamper with the collar, it will explode, there are no rules once the game begins. This is not a small island, and each person will have a map with clearly marked zones. Speakers placed throughout the island will let you know which zones are off limits and at what times. If you are in a off limit zone your collar will explode."
Rodney looked at the other people at the table with new eyes. He couldn't look at John, Teyla, or Ronon. John had his hands clenched into fists. Rodney prayed that this was the planet they set out to visit this morning and that Elizabeth would send backup.
One of the men at the table next to theirs stood up and started yelling at the men in a language Rodney didn't know. The lady with the black hair pressed a button on the remote and from ten feet away Rodney could hear the beeping on the man's collar, it started slow at ten second intervals and increased to five second intervals, the man screamed and clawed at the collar around his neck. He ran for help but everyone at his table jumped back away from him.
The beeping picked up speed and then it stopped, Rodney didn't hear the explosion but he saw the man's head pop off and go flying, it landed on their table. Teyla and Ronon jumped back the bench they sat on fell on the ground, Rodney felt something warm hit his face and realized with mounting panic that it was the other man's blood. He jerked back and fell onto the floor while all the other people continued to scream and yell, guards at the door kept them from running outside. John yanked him back to his feet before he got trampled.
John also had streaks of blood on his face, Rodney guessed ten feet really wasn't far enough away when someone's neck exploded. Gunfire into the ceiling silenced the panicking people. At this point tables and chairs were all over turned the food trampled on, in the chaos Rodney grabbed one of the rolls and was about to stuff it into his mouth when John punched him.
The roll went flying as he staggered back into Ronon. "Don't eat the food." John hissed at him and pointed to another man who was choking and gagging on whatever he put into his mouth. The food was poisoned. These people had brought them here to kill them.
The dark haired woman smiled at him as the rest of the guards rounded them up, Rodney had to step over the guy who was poisoned and he shuddered. They were led into another room, this one had a table full of bags.
They were pushed against the wall and Rodney stuck close to John and Teyla. Ronon stood with his arms crossed, not outwardly phased by what had happened in the dinning room.
The speaker from the dinning room entered last, "Now that you have had a demonstration of what my order is capable of we can progress to the next stage." A row of guards stood along side the wall each armed with machine guns, they parted to reveal a row of backpacks.
"Each of these packs carries supplies for three days as well as a weapon. To make things interesting each pack contains a different weapon. The speakers on the island will announce how much time is left to kill your opponents."
He stopped speaking, turned around and grabbed a clipboard. "I will call out your name, when I do run to get a get a bag and get out of here. The game begins as soon as you step out the door."
The next hour was the longest in Rodney's life. Ronon was one of the first called, he gave them one last look before he hurried to the front, grabbed a bag off the floor and ran out the room. The man waited five minutes before calling the next. When John was called Rodney had to remember to let go of his wrist so John wouldn't get shot by a guard. Then it was just him and Teyla and five other scared people. Two of the woman gave him frightened looks, Teyla with her injury worried Rodney the most. Ronon and John would win any fight, Teyla kicked ass but the drugs and the head injury...Rodney almost didn't hear his name get called until Teyla pushed him. He walked very fast to the dwindling supply of bags along the wall, picked one up, almost wrenched his shoulder, and got out of the room as fast as possible. In the hallway he started running. The door at the end lead outside into a jungle he scanned the small clearing for either John or Ronon but didn't see either men. He decided to stay close and wait for Teyla but first he better get some cover and figure out what kind of weapon came in his bag, it had to be good because his bag weighed a ton.
The sun was setting but he managed to find a place that had cover and still let in what little sunlight was left. No sooner had he put his bag down than someone jumped him brandishing a small handled axe.
He jumped backwards, tripped over his bag, which is probably what saved his life. The axe passed just over where his head should have been. He kicked the ratty looking man in the kneecap as hard as possible, the man screamed and dropped the axe clutching his knee. Rodney scrambled for the axe before the man came to his senses. The wood was slick in his sweaty palms and he was tempted to use it against the other man squirming on the ground groaning and clutching his damaged knee. Instead of finishing him off, Rodney grabbed his bag and ran for it, two weapons sounded better than one.
*****************
Ten minutes later, completely lost and losing light, Rodney stopped to regain his bearings and to find out if he had any food in his pack. he had his back to the tree so no one could sneak up on him like that last guy. The bag wasn't as good as his normal backpack, but it did the job and looked water proof. He dumped everything out on the ground, grabbed the food package first, tore it open and ate what looked like a Powerbar, it tasted awful but he was one step away from a coma here. With the food killing his stomach he found what looked like freeze dried fruit, he passed on that, until he found John, Ronon, or Teyla to test the fruit for him he wasn't going to take any chances. He found an MRE with Unite States Army stamped right across it, he tore that open and started preparing his dinner, under the poncho he found another one MRE bag, the rest of the food looked like it was from all over the galaxy. They must have stolen the food supplies from them and redistributed. After he finished eating, he turned on the flashlight and searched for his weapon, it didn't take him long to assemble it, and then he felt like cursing. What the hell was he going to do with a rocket launcher?
*****************
By the time he finished inventorying his bag it was full dark.

Basically the teams run around killing lots of people trying to survive and hook up and Rodney has to figure out some way to disable the collars without blowing anyone's head off. In the meantime, Rodney is captured by a small group kind of tortured a little, Sheppard, Ronon, and Teyla rescue him. And the Daedalus was supposed to come to the rescue.
