If you live in Texas early voting has started for the November 8th elections. all the proposed constitutional amendments are designed to either take more money from the people or limit their civil rights/liberties.
Gay Marriage and Civil Unions are on this ballot. Basically if the banning gay marriage amendment goes through, people of Texas can kiss Civil Unions goodbye as well.
Right now I feel like kicking myself for not getting myself registered in Harris County when I moved to Houston. Bell County is a good 3 hours away and right now I'm trying to get the paperwork request a ballot by mail and send my vote to Bell county by mail.
Anyway it's a pain in the ass but I feel strongly about this issue so I'm going through the effort, though tomorrow I'm going to call the county elections office and find out more about limited ballots.
I think for state elections people should be allowed to vote no matter what county they are registered in, though I'm sure there's a good reason why you can only vote in the county you're registered in. It could have something to do with people trying to ballot stuff???? that's just one theory of mine.
