Back Again

amalthiaIt's been a while since i've written here and really there is no excuse except laziness. However, since I last wrote a lot seems to have taken place. My dad was sent to Kuwait to fix computers. grrr the extra money is nice, but truthfully I'd rather have my dad and be poor than not have him at all. I worry a lot, although my younger brother assures me my dad is in the safest place he can be while in Kuwait.
If I was a religous person I'd pray.
I'm also close to graduating. I just finished registering for classes this summer, so I figured instead of sitting out by the river catching some skin cancer, I'll be in class or working. Living in Texas, that's not such a bad thing, air conditioning is by far the best invention since indoor plumbing. :)
tonight, I'm supposed to be working on this Harry Potter fan fiction I started over a year ago, I'm now on page 80 but at this point I don't know where to go with the story, like do I want Draco to fall in love with someone or just deal with his problems and leave it at that? Some stories do fine without romance in them.
I was also asked very nicely by two people I respect to try and contribute a story to a zine. I'm really interested in giving it a shot. :) I'm glad the deadline is in August. Hopefully that will give me time to write something. Truth be told, it makes me feel sort of shy when people compliment my writing skills, I wonder if they are seeing something i'm not. I still feel like a novice. I wish I had my sister's talent for description, her stories are vivid, though they make no sense. :) I think if we combined our efforts we'd have a pretty damn good story, sadly she'd rather kill off all her characters and I want to make all of mine gay...it would never work out. lol
Tonight i'm in a good mood, I'm going to read a few chapters of this book called Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb, listen to some good music, and then maybe in an hour I'll work on my story. I really do want to finish it.
