Panel ideas
Jan. 25th, 2007 02:01 pmI've suggested two panels for Escapade one is for vidding and another is what I consider just fun. I think the vidding suggestion is probably going to be more controversial than who's the top or bottom between Sam or Dean....okay maybe not.
but anyway. I'm trying to think of a panel topic that will cover darkfics in a new way.
For example, I notice Stargate Atlantis doesn't really have a lot of darfics/non-con and I'm curious as to why? Is it that the majority of the writers in this fandom really like happy romantic stories and so if someone posts a darkfic there is zero feedback or fan backlash? Or maybe it's there but because I rare go to archives anymore I'm missing these stories???
and for that matter does anyone use archives anymore? I know for myself I primarily use my LJ to find and read fan fiction.
Supernatural I think should also have more darkfics (and there are some and the ones i've read have kicked ass on many levels) but I'd expect more considering just how dark this show is...but again I could be missing it.
Also is the long story format going the way of the dinsaour because of the size restrictions on LJ? My memories could be faulty but I could have sworn the Highlander, Sentinel, and X-Files fans wrote more epic novels back in the day before LJ became so popular. Lately it seems like most of the stories I run into are 2k words - 10k words long.
So I'm trying to put all these ideas together and figure out how to phrase this, so if it does get selected as a panel for this convention, people actually show up and have something to discuss.
