Very Puzzled about something in SPN fandom

Okay is it just me or am I the only one disturbed by how many people seem to be rooting for Sam/Ruby? Now normally, I love rape fics and non-con but what I find disturbing is that when I see people squeeing about hot they'd be together, there is no mention of the fact that Ruby, as far as we know, is a possessed woman, with no say in what the demon does in her body.

So they aren't squeeing because they love rape fics or non-con (which would be okay if that's what gets them off about this pairing), they honestly probably haven't even thought of the pairing in that way. Kind of like the writers of SGA when they wrote Irresistable had NO IDEA that having a guest character drug and rape woman would offend female members of their audiences. They thought it was funny and were completely flabbergasted that someone interrpreted a man that used a drug to make himself irresistable to women and then had sex with the women that threw themselves at him would be considered offensive. (I'm still shaking my head over that one)

Maybe it's because I watch Stargate and I'm used to thinking of demons as the equivelent to the Goa'uld or maybe because non-con/rape fics are my biggest kink and I run an Angst Archive and I kind of had to give a lot of thought to variations of what constitutes non-con sex to see if it'll fit archive criteria. So I think it's safe to say I'm pretty good at seeing non-con in stories and situations.

Don't get me wrong, I'd totally love a fic from the pov of the real Ruby, not the demon!Ruby. I didn't bring this up with Meg even though there are a few stories with her out there because well when I say few I mean like maybe less than 10. (that i've seen) Obviously, fandom thinks demon!Ruby is much prettier and it looks like she has a bigger role on the show so I can see why people are trying to pair demon!Ruby off with Sam or Dean.

I'm just wondering why authors and fans I'm rather sure do not read or like non-con/rape in fics are excited about this pairing?

Is this finally the non-con that is acceptable to fandom? Do they like the idea that the good guys in the show would have sex with not only a demon but a woman who can't consent to sex because she's not in control over her body? What would they say to her afterwards if they ever got her un-possessed, well assuming she survives that is? At this point I'm equating Sam having sex with Ruby to Sam having sex with a girl passed out drunk on a bed.

Part of me is disquieted that no one else seems to be seeing this and the few fics I've run across haven't dealt with this issue at all.
