I'm going to lj-cut in case I give any spoilers.... okay this episode was dissapointing. Yeah it's great to know she killed her stepfather but it still felt like a let down and I think it's because while we know what she did, I still don't understand her motivations for doing it? The rest of the episode was kind of blah too. I'm not sure if they got a new set of writers for season 2 or what happened because the episodes aren't nearly as good as season 1 episodes. maybe I'm missing something...

Also for anyone that knows LJ speak better than me, how do you change the text on your lj-cut...I think the default is Read More....but I've seen people's lj cuts say something else.

Edit: realized when I first posted this that her stepfather really was her dad???? weird.

I didn't like the way whatever Iowan town she's from was portrayed as some hick town. Yeah, Wayne might've been out in the boonies but... it just irked me. Riley was more believeable as an Iowan lol. All Jane Espenson's fault, I say.

What I don't get is if she was raised by hicks why didn't she sound like one. really her accent didn't quite match her mom's or the stepdad/father? I think at this point I just want stuff to happen at a faster pace. right now it feels like the story is dragging. :(

Jane wrote for Joss - I know she was from Ames, IA but not sure about born and raised. Huxley is about ten - fifteen minutes from Ames. I'm pretty sure that's why Riley was from Iowa.

The man Kate called daddy near the end had a more believable Iowan accent. It also depends on where you're from - the farther north the more Minneostan/Canadian the words get. South Iowa accents are more twangy like Missouri or Miss'ipi.

Were we ever told how old Kate is? If she was twenty-four when that happened, she's got to be at least twenty-six and two years ago I just don't find it a truthful story at all.

what killed the story for me was how easy it was for her to escape. Normally when police take a suspect into custody they don't go alone, and they don't sit next to them in a regular car. I could be wrong about this maybe small towns don't have real police cars???? I'm not quite buying it because I got pulled over by sherrif's and police for speeding in plenty of small towns and they had real police cars.

Oh i so agree i didnt liek this ep much, didnt really give enough and teh rest of it was very Blah, I dont knwo the last coupel eps i ahve actually liked but this No.

i also enjoyed the last two or three episodes but this one was kind of a anti-climatic...I mean they'd been building up to this episode forever and it wasn't all that. I think if they didn't make such a big deal on Kate keeping her crime a secret then it wouldn't matter as much that this is the episode where we find out, but while the audience knows what happened, does anyone on the island know??? I think Sawyer knows she killed someone but not who. It was hard to tell.
