this story blew me away, the imagery, the emotions, the story had me near tears. It was simple and elegant. I normally don't like slave stories because it's just a major squick of mine, butauburnnothenna says she's planning on writing more so I'm hoping for a happy ending. Though I'm not sure if John and Rodney can come back from what's happened to them. At this point i'd be happy if they get rescued. The despair in this story was quiet and very effective.
