amalthia: (Doctor Who)
What is up with all the advertisements displaying all over our Stargate episodes.

I mean I thought last season reached the heights of obnoxiousness but it looks like they are trying to outdo themselves on who can make the brightest advertisement that will annoy the most viewers.

Come on, most sci-fi fans know about the new shows already. We are a well read bunch of people, who generally speaking do have Internet and are willing to give just about any show with any supernatural/sci-fi/tech/or fantasy elements a go. No need to splash this info on top of our show!

There's a reason I don't watch commercials...if these advertisements get any bigger...soon I'll have no reason to keep watching the shows either!

I'm waiting for the day when the plaster advertisements all over books (like in between paragraphs or something, I bet people will just love that)

Anyway, loved SG-1 and SGA...hated the obnoxious advertisements.

p.s. am so tempted to get the advertisment LJ so I can have more icons. I took out my FMA icon so I can add a Doctor Who icon...still on the lookout for more. :)

Extracuricular Activities by [livejournal.com profile] miss_mandy Can't help it, I think sex in cars is quickly becoming one of my favorite kinks. :)

When the Road Stops, Rest by [livejournal.com profile] maygra Oh man, [livejournal.com profile] maygra writes some of the best end of the world fics I've ever read. This one just blew me away.

I think I'm going to have to become a lot more selective on what stories I recommend because I'm realizing that I spend a lot of time reccing fics that I enjoy and I liked but really probably won't read twice now that I have limited time to read fics. However, if I only rec the stories that I know for sure I'll re-read multiple times regardless of how much time I have or not...then I'll have very few stories to rec.

Not sure if anyone knows this or not but my main criteria for reccing a lot of stories is if I'm able to finish reading it. (as in it kept my interest enough to finish) The instant recs are the stories where I can't stop reading until I reach the end.

anyway, it's early Sunday I still have plenty of time to catch up on the 20 fics I have opened in my Firefox browser.

Lessons Learned by [livejournal.com profile] lyra_wing Loved seeing Sam and Dean from an outside pov. Lucas and Michael were interesting and I liked them. :)

Memories of Me, Wherever This Road May Lead Us , and Touched by Gillian. I loved this story. Amensia Dean, Sam trying to help his brother out...and the rest of what followed just really worked for me. kind of dubious consent?

SGA

No Place Like Home by Delilah. I love Quantum Mirror fics and this one made me happy in a lot of ways. :)

Dreaming of England by [livejournal.com profile] kittyfisher The 5th Doctor/Turlough (this is the story I spent most of the day reading) it's long, it's angsty, and I loved every minute of it. :) Especially the Doctor and Turlough.
