I finally had the chance to watch the Pilot...my opinion about this show is still up in the air, so I'm downloading episode 3 and 4. The good points...Fraser is kind of hot...Ray not so much but he has personality. I like the dog too.

bad points...it reminds me a lot of the early 90s...except when I was a kid the 90s didn't look that cheesy or maybe it did and I was too young to know any better.

So now that I know the basics of the show does anyone have any slash recs? I mean like the ultimate Due South story. Kind of equivelent to [livejournal.com profile] astolat's A Beautiful Lifetime Event and Transcendental. Or stories that make you want to throw off all your clothes and spend some quality time with a vibrator....um I'm kind of easy to please. OH!!! and are there actually any good darkfics in this genre?

Um I guess this request is a tall order...I already signed up to the Due South noticeboard on LJ and I think some of my favorite SGA writers wrote some Due South fiction (just need to figure out who) but it really wouldn't hurt to get a good direction to start in.

Most of the best stories take place in seasons 3 and 4 for reasons that are a tad spoilery.

Yup, I'd second that you really want to do RayK if you're looking for the fic.

Other than that, you'll find a lot of familiar names :-)

Ces has written some of my favorite DS fic here (http://trickster.org/speranza/stories.html). Most of them are interesting and a lot are amazing and many are quite different from one another. Chicago's Most Wanted, Eight Sessions, Kowalski is Bleeding are among my favorites.

Resonant was the first person I read in DS and her stuff (http://www.trickster.org/res/#ds) is good in any fandom as far as I'm concerned.

I like Kellie Matthews writing (http://kellie.mrks.org/fic/ds/duesouth.htm), though I think my favorite of hers is not DS at all but an actor Xover Talkes of the City/Hard Core Logo, Shadows Fade.

Hth has some good but at times fairly screwed up fic here (http://hth.gatefiction.com/duesouth.htm) (Sibylla ti theleis is one of my favorite ones)

Kat Allison's End of the Road (http://www.katallison.com/) is a post-series fic (there are tons of them), and it one of the best stories I will never ever reread it breaks your heart too many different ways :-)

other than that, I'm a huge AU fan, and if you're into that, give Dira Sudis's Hawks and Hands (http://dira.ficlaundering.com/ds/hockey/) a try.

But, for all of these it might be good to at least have seen a few Kowalsi eps to know hoe he looks like and how he interacts with Fraser...

[livejournal.com profile] cesperanza and [livejournal.com profile] resonant8 are my too ultimate dS authors. Although they both mostly write Fraser/RayK.

I'm not much help with Fraser/RayV recs. I adore Vecchio and totally see the subtext with him and Fraser but I have a hard time seeing it get past subtext.

Speranza is the absolute must-read in Due South slash. Other recs, including all the classics, can be found at [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashback.

It is really scary how we tend to find fandoms at the same time. I have been snorkelling through any F/RayK dark fic I could find, for about a total of two weeks. That's how recently I have got into this fandom.

I am currently in part two of Grey's Bygones series, which is a very very very very very long rape/recovery, with lots and lots and lots (etc) of recovery before Ray gets whalluped again. You can find it here (http://grey.ravenshadow.net/). Just scroll down to her due South section.

Grey writes long stuff, and has been keeping me occupied for many a long hour these last couple of weeks.

Most of the dS fics I've read are RayK/Fraser. Sorry if they're spoilery for S3 and beyond.

How Ray Got His Groove Back (http://hos.slashcity.com/hrghgbb.htm) by Aristide and Bone was the story that got me interested in dS. It's RayK/Fraser and scorchingly hot. There's also an epilogue (http://hos.slashcity.com/hrgep.htm).

I hadn't seen the show before reading the fic but after I read it, I got my hands on Call of the Wild (series finale) and season 3 DVD. Nothing like watching a show backwards -- starting from the end. *g*

I also like Josephine Darcy's The Mountie Who Fell to Earth (http://www.852prospect.org/archive/archive/1_2000_series/svs13the.html), a due South/The Sentinel crossover fic. It's a nice plotty fic with Jim/Blair and RayK/Fraser investigating a crime.

I wish I'd seen this earlier: I'd love to have been the first to help you out with this - to say thank you for leading me to so many good fics.

I agree that Cesperanza's a *must*. And also Workerb has the right of it with Bone and Aristide/Mairead Triste's 'Due South' stories. They'll melt your socks off.

This is Bone's site Slash Fiction by Bone (http://www.mrks.org/~bone/). I envy you being in this position, with all those marvellous fics just waiting to be read - happy reading.
