I felt like crying by the time I got home. It's not that work was necessarily bad, it's just I was tired, hungry, drove through some god awful traffic, suffered allery hell and I don't want to go through another day like today, tomorrow. Basically, I was bored to tears, I don't have a desk, a chair to call my own, or a computer. I got to sit in this chair that belongs in a junkyard and watch the boss work. I figured out rather quickly how to use google to do what he was doing and it was just boring and trying to fake interest was really hard.

Anyway I'm hoping that sometime in the upcoming week or two they find me and my other new co-worker some sort of work area where we can actually work. Most of today outside of filling in paperwork was spent watching someone else do stuff and listening to him on the conference calls.

tomorrow I'll think about the money and hopefully we'll move onto something new.

I'm glad I have a job but now that I'm working I'll actually like to work or do something when I'm at work.

Also, I really have to admire everyone in fandom that works full time, goes to school, raise children, AND write wonderful stories, create vids , wallpapers, and icons. right now I feel exhuasted and plan to go to bed early. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have enough energy to go to the gym.

When I was very young I had a temporary job for 8 weeks with a defense contractor. My duties were to be present for 8 hours a day, get paid (the then fantastic sum of $7.00 an hour), and do anything I wanted to for the entire time. Books, puzzles, etc.

The "job" was merely to hold a place for a future full-time employee, since otherwise the governmental funding would be lost.

It was without doubt the worst 8 weeks of my working life, and each day seemed 24 hours long. I was much more exhausted each day then I was years later working 12+ hours a day as an attorney.

Don't worry. We'll find plenty of stuff for you to do :)

Welcome, BTW.
