Nothing Like the Real Thing by [livejournal.com profile] docmichelle

Hidden Truths and Chinese Proverbs I don't know the author but damn she/he has mad skills. Loved this. :)

I had a ephinany tonight. For the last week or so I've been stressing out trying to read all these stories I wanted to read so I can figure out which ones I can rec...it hit me that I shouldn't be stressing because when I first started using this journal as a place to rec fics I sometimes only recced one fic every week or sometimes every other week. and I don't know why I'm feeling pressure to rec stories but I realized no one is pressuring me! I'm doing this to myself. So I bookmarked all the stories (most of which are gen) and I figured I'll get to them as I get to them. I do occasionally have moments where I have nothing new to read...it'll be nice to have a list of stories I already know I want to read. Hopefully the author's won't remove their fics from the internet in the next month or two. but I'm going to go back to my lazy days of reading fan fiction and try not to worry so much about this.

You're going to slow down? *glares*

Only kidding! *g* Fandom is supposed to be a fun thing. If reccing makes you feel good (and I can tell you, it is appreciated from my end) all the better. But don't knock yourself out trying to keep up with all the material that is out there.

I have reccers I follow in many fandoms, from SGA, SPN, HP, dS etc, not to mention [livejournal.com profile] crack_van and [livejournal.com profile] crack_broom. It is not like I'm going to run out of things to read if you retreat to a more manageable load.

Enjoy yourself, woman! We'll still be here, devouring whatever you rec, whenever you rec. *g*
