Kind of need some technical help
Jan. 2nd, 2007 11:52 pmI got Supernatural on DVD for X-Mas. I went to play the pilot commentary on my computer (which runs windows XP) and the dvd drive won't recognize the disk. At first I thought maybe my disk is messed up so I tried it on my Windows 2000 laptop and well the DVD plays fine.
I tested other DVDs on my desktop computer and they run just fine. However except for disk 5 of my set none of my dvds will run on my computer. I have no clue what is going on here. I don't want to take them back for an exchange if i'm going to have the same problems tomorrow night as well. :(
I'd really appreciate any and all advice on this matter.

The other thing I can think off is also, if your computer is old enough, it may not be recognising dual layer dvds and possibly some of your other dvds are single layer.
You could try googling for the make and model/brand of the drive. If it's made by some big company like Philips or something, they often have websites with drivers and upgrades. You may have to download a driver which would then enable your drive to recognise the DVD...

Date: 2007-01-03 04:46 pm (UTC)I'm pretty sure my mom got these Supernatural dvds in America. Also I get a pop up when I put in region 2 dvds reminding me that I only have so many more times to play a region 2 dvd before it won't work anymore.
I guess the part that confused me is that they worked on my laptop, one of the disks did work on my desktop but the others...my computer just won't recognize.
