Okay my computer really hates me!

This morning I went to add a file to my usb stick and my computer wouldn't recognize it so I decided to restart my computer in case something was hanging...well it got to off and then wouldn't start back up. the power is there but it turns off on its own five seconds into the boot process. :(

So anyway, tonight when I get home from work I need to find a boot disk and see if my computer will boot from there, if not I think I'll have to remove my harddisk from the computer insert it into my husband's computer grab my info off of it (like email settings, bookmarks, ulead library files) and reformat my operating system drive. :( I'm hoping it doesn't come to that my husband says he may have a solution and I'm crossing my fingers that it'll work.

I'm also hoping this is a software issue and not hardware. I'm not sure why it would be hardware becuase I rarely move my computer but maybe I should vacum out the dust more often. Basically, when computers overheat they'll turn off on their own...but I'm thinking that's not the problem here because it would have just shut down not wait for me to hit restart.

anyway, I need to set this aside for now and concentrate on getting work stuff done.
