At the moment my music video site is technically offline. None of the video files worked because they were in zip format and last few kbs were missing so anyone who downloaded would get a corrupt zip file error message.

So I deleted all the files and started to reload them but the same thing kept happening. In fact the connection keeps dropping and even trying to transfer unzipped files wasn't working so great. At the moment the smaller files seem to go over better...but this is frustrating.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've been using ftp for years and I've never experienced this before.

i'm putting my Ipswitch ftp into batch mode and seeing if that makes a difference.

edit: at the moment I'm uploading one vid at a time with the control panel file manager. I think I'm going to have shop around for another ftp client. One with fewer bells and whistles. It shouldn't be this complicated to select a group of files and move them over.

Total Commander is loaded with bells and whistles but it's AWESOME. It has file syncing capabilities so you can be sure all your files are uploaded correctly. And if the last few kb don't make it it can *resume* the transfer.

I've been using it for *years*

Are you uploading in Ascii or Binary mode? I've found that one of those (and I can't recall which at the moment) screws up file uploads. You can check and see which it is now and switch to the other, and see if that helps.
