Just discovered something awesome

I signed up for a LJ at insanejournal (username: amalthia) and I discovered something that I truly truly love.

eta: just found out that greatestjournal (username: amothea) allows 2000? which is also pretty neat but 2000??? um that's a lot.

it is tempting!!! I'm surprised LJ doesn't allow more user pictures because the competition offers more.

See, I don't think I can ever leave Lj now. I've spent too long making everything just perfect.

Also, at the end of the day, I prefer less user pics to something like GJ, which has a lot of user pics but everything else sucks. Because, okay yeah, more pics is nice, but so is not having to wait 20 minutes for everything to load!

I think anything past 100 user pics is a bit much in terms of actually using your pics. :) but then again i'm used to the six picture limit.

I agree I'm not too fond of the idea of moving either because I"ve spent so much time on making this LJ look the way I like. Plus all my friends and communities are here.

I have 130something, and I tend to use them all, but I don't actually NEED them. lmao. I just like having them. Actually, I think right now I only have like 96 uploaded, but I have had the spaces all filled up before.

I knwo I use all six of my icons, I imagine if I had more i'd use them too. :) mostly it'll be nice to upload an icon and not have to take it down again.

I set up a greatestjournal (paian) so I could at least keep track of all the gj usernames people were announcing, by friending them there as they showed up on my friends page here. I like it better than Vox, where I had a backup journal (komos) (which doesn't make a lot of sense since it's also 6A, but I also just wanted to check it out), because the interface is a lot more LJ-like and comfy. But I'll check out insanejournal now too.

Sadly, the really good thing about creating a gj login is that having so much userpic space there has cured me of my craving to have more userpic space here. 2000 slots, and the userpics I've been bummed not to have room for here took up like 50 of them. I'm totally fine with what I've got here now. Huh.

i probably should have done the same. :) but by the time I got the account I would have had to backtrack quite a bit. Also, i'm still hoping more people decide to use insane journal instead. :)

I sort of did that with Insanejournal, in that I just made a login there (thanks for the motivation!) but most of the 'I'm so-and-so at IJ' posts are passed away into the mists of skip=too many. Still good to be findable and to have another bolthole. It's a nice-looking place. :-)
