Okay, I'm finally home after 5 days at my mom's. My house only had some superfical damage, however the garage was FUCKED UP. :(
The door leading into the garage lost the frame and the door landed on lawn mower, the garage door itself was crumpled. :( My husband and I managed to get it completely down so I could get my car out of the garage. We're estimating it's going to cost about 700 to fix that.
But it is still nice to be home and we are going to fix the both garage doors asap. The weird part is some doors looked a-okay. :( the neighbor across from us had the same problem with his door. I can only assume the small door came loose and then the wind just knocked the other door around. But the funny part is none of my moving boxes moved from where i'd left them.
We emptied our entire freezer and fridge because we didn't want to take any chances so now we have 2 top ramen's and the hamburger meat my mom said we could take with us, plus some bread and whatever we had in the pantry. I still feel like we lucked out compared to other houses and families that did lose loved ones.
Anyways, I have work tomorrow, and coming into Houston today only 1 traffic light worked properly. So I imagine it's going to take a while to get to work since I have to drive 13 miles through streets full of traffic lights. :( I'm crossing my fingers that most will be functional by 10am.
