I'm making some lifestyle changes. Okay guys, for the last two/three months my neck has been killing me, it's so bad it's been giving me headaches and basically it's starting to ruin my sleep because well it's hard to sleep when your neck is hurting really badly. So I've been trying to make some lifestyle changes in regards to my computer useage. I'm cutting back. Which means less fan fiction reading on weekends, because I'm limiting myself to 2 hours a day on weekends to use my computer. (instead going to try watching tv/crochet and get out and do something that does not involve sitting down. Basically, I remembered when I was watching 2-3 hours of tv a night while making baby blanket I didn't suffer the same neck pains/headaches)
The main problem is I have this anti-ergonomic chair at work and I'm kind of forced to use it for 8 hours a day, and then i'd come home and use my computer for another 2 or 3 hours and well my body is seriously complaining about this.
I still have 2 sweet charity vids I'm working on and so I planned on devoting all my home computer time to getting those finished asap. It's going to be hard changing my habits but after Thursday night and 5 or 6 migraine headaches in a month something's gotta give. I'm at the point where I'm tempted to go see a Chirporactor and see if maybe the strain in my neck has caused my spine to go out of alignment or something. However, my husband has convinced me to cut back computer usage, try some back exercises which should strenghten my muscles (which would provide more support for my neck and etc)...before I go and spend money on a doctor.
This completely sucks but maybe it's not such a bad thing to get away from my computer and do other stuff. I think the part that sucks for me is that I am at a computer 40 hours a week and I can't do any vidding on it and I feel like I'm wasting my time sometimes. When I was unemployed I spent about 8 hours a day on my computer and I felt like I got a lot more done. I think basically I'm in computer overkill land at the moment.
But anyways, for the month of Feb. going to try not using my computer at home and see how it works out. If the pain goes away then I'll know for sure I was just straining my neck. But it'll be nice to not have migraines on weekends.
If we didn't have so many theives at my workplace I'd totally go and buy myself an ergonomic chair for work but hell if people can't even keep their hands off the food in the fridge who knows where my chair would end up. (plus I really do feel it's the company's responsiblity to provide ergonomic chairs for their employees.)
And now for the recs! It's not a lot sorry guys.
Stargate Atlantis
Lustrous by rageprufrock (Sheppard/McKay) I liked the concept and this was both sad and funny.
Supernatural
Dellamorte Dellamore by kroki_refur (Gen) This was creepy and I thought very well done.
