Sad news for family today

amalthiaMy husband's father died yesterday. (got the call at 2am) I went to work today but was distracted and worried so am taking Friday off to spend time with Tom before he leaves to Beligum for the funeral.
I never really spoke to my father in law since we kind of had the language barrier problem. He had a part in raising the man I love today so I do feel like the world lost someone good. It wasn't entirely unexpected but I know I kept thinking he'd pull through, bounce back, and well I've never been accused of being pessimistic when it came to matters like these.
Mostly I'm just worried about my husband and my mother in law who has lost her husband of 40 plus years.
My husband's family is in my thoughts.
