Date: 2009-05-02 06:39 pm (UTC)You consider this Sheppard/McKay as in slash? I'm very glad I was warned about it before I started reading, and even so I was disappointed that the pairing never got off *adds: the ground*.
That's not to say it isn't a good fic - at all - but the headers and most of the fic sets you (me) up for a lot more slash than is delivered.

Me I read it as a slash story where the guys met and are like one step away from jumping into bed together. :) But I can see how most would read it as Gen. (i'm so influenced by the author notes...) I agree, writing isn't the most effective mode of communication.
I do have yahoo IM and headphones to talk with people over the net, but I've only met one other fandom person that also uses headphones to chat.

Date: 2009-05-03 09:00 am (UTC)I used to do some amount of talking over Skype and IM with headphones/mike - then they broke, and my new pair had no mike. So I've gotten out of the habit. It was fun, though, and good training for my spoken English :o)
