And asking my flist if anyone has good recommendations for vacuum cleaners? Mine just broke this afternoon when I tried to vacuum.

Just realized, I'd already mentioned my broken vacumn earlier...but would still love some recs. Right now I'm torn between the Eureka Pet one and the Bisson? Pet vacuum. If I had the money, I'd by the Dyson...but really 549 dollars!

We got this vacuum for Christmas and I love it to death, but it might not meet your needs, idk. We have all hardwood floors and it works wonders for that, but I saw some reviews on Amazon mention it doesn't do as well on carpets (not an issue for us, so I didn't care).

yeah, we're going to need something that can clean carpet, I'm okay with using a dust mop for the hardwood floors and sweeping the stuff into the trash. That's what I did at my mom's house (she has all hardwood floors) and it was just easier than using the vacuum. I do hope to have all hardwood floors someday though. :)
