Busy Saturday
Jun. 6th, 2009 03:23 pmI just got back from Sports Authority where I spent 3 hours shopping for exercise pants by myself. I think I tried on everything at the store and right now I'm trying not to feel guilty for spending about 200 on 4 shorts, and 3 knee length stretchy shorts, plus 6 pairs of socks, and winter gloves. When we moved to Alaska I had thrown out all my older exercise clothes because truthfully none of them fit anymore. :( I weighed myself on Friday and since moving to Alaska I had gained over 15 pounds. So I"m officially about 144 pounds. I'd like to get back to my normal 125 pound range. Good news about my shorts is they all have draw stings so they should still fit even if I lose a few inches around the waist.
So basically, I needed real exercise clothing because I had nothing stretchy and breathable for going rollerblading in or for outdoor walks. And yet because of the cold I needed something warmer for when Fall arrives. Hence the knee length shorts. I didn't pick up any shirts or jackets (though I saw one that looks really light weight and yet warm (may get one when winter arrives if I plan on actually learning how to cross country ski) But honestly, I have to be realistic. I hate the cold if I do any exercising this winter it's going to be at a gym.
This is the first time I've really shopped for clothing by myself. Normally, I rely on my mom to buy my clothes for me because she loves shopping and knows how to find the good deals. I just stuck to the clearance rack because I think that's what she does. So no matching outfits. I also hate shopping so I tend to buy what I need all at once instead of stopping by once a month to add to collection of clothes.
Okay I'm off to try this paved path trail that my husband told me about. Last weekend I got a new pair of rollerblades and the knee and wrist pads, and now I have the clothing and it's sunny if cool this afternoon. :)
