Calibre updated to 7.0

Calibre has made an update that adds new features that are kind of neat but I'm not sure if I can or should use them. Right now I've added a column to indicate if a story is Slash/Gen/Het/or Femslash. But I'm not sure if I need a column to indicate if I've read a story?

So far I've been using tags to indicate the read status of a fic because when I'm away from the computer it's nice to browse my unread collection on my device. (though it's become less useful now that the unread number of fics is over 200)

I'm also not sure what else would make a good column to organize the 2000 fics I have uploaded to my Calibre Library....

I'd be interested in hearing thoughts and opinions from other Calibre users?

In any case, I'm very excited with all the new fixes and changes to the program. :)

I use Calibre. Because I have a Mac, there aren't that many options for reading programs. I will update Calibre to see what the new stuff looks like. I haven't updated in ages. When, when, when will there be an annotation function??? I see someone requested it at the Calibre site, but I also saw that it was marked as low priority by the developers. Ah, well.

What I like is that they are taking user requests and implementing them as fast as they can. Even if it's low priority there's a good chance annotations will happen eventually because the program is constantly under development. :) I'm personally looking forward to automatic syncing. :)

My one recommendation is if you have a very old version of Calibre, save your library so if you need to go back you can.
