Supernatural Big Bang Offer

Hi,

Last year I made the offer to create ebook versions of Big Bang fics for any author that would like one. I'm extending that offer to this year as well. :)

If you'd like an epub/mobi/lrf and RTF version of your story to put up on your Master Post please email me at amalthia at gmail.com so we can work out the details.

This offer is also open to anyone participating in the Merlin, Torchwood, and Stargate Atlantis Big Bangs. And generally it's open to anyone else that is interested and if their story is over 20k words long. :)

A very kind friend gave me her superfluous Kindle, and I've been slogging through the manual trying to figure out how to get fanfic onto it. I've been able to connect it to one writer's site, but other sites (like AO3) don't connect...and I'm sure there has to be a way to get files from the computer to the Kindle, but I haven't figured that out yet. Any tips? (I don't have a cable for it - will I need to get that?) Thanks for what you are doing - I'm sure I'll find it awesomely useful once I get the basics under my belt!

I think what you need are mobipocket formatted fics and if I'm correct you should be able to email the stories to your Kindle or email the stories to amazon and they'll email the fic to your kindle (they may charge money for that option though). I don't actually have a Kindle so I'm not sure exactly how the wireless works. But I know many people use Calibre to email fic to their device.

I'm not sure what fandoms you read but I've been slowly adding mobi and epub formatted stories to the Ebook Library

You can't currently get any fan fiction on any device without some sort of formatting. With the Sony I normally copy and paste the html into a new Word document and add the metadata before transferring it to my device. The Kindle does not support doc or rtf so you have to send it to amazon for conversion or do it yourself.

The Ebook Formatting Tutorial I made says it's geared towards epub, but the truth is all the information on the site works for mobipocket as well.

If you'd like to find other fans who have Kindles I highly recommend this LJ community. kindlefans. Users there do have Kindles and probably have more experience with emailing fics to their Kindles or have tips and tricks to find a usb cable.
