Sony PRS-650 Screensavers

Since I got my new Sony ebook reader I've been adding images and stuff to the screensaver folder so when my device goes to sleep I have something I'd prefer to look at vs the default landscapes that came with my device.

Another community brought up screensavers for Kindles and Nooks and asked to share what people have come up with so I added my screensavers to photobucket. On the Sony you don't have to resize to 600x400 or greyscale the picture, the device does it for you. So most of these are untouched and I got a few from those sharing at the community.

For anyone interested here are the screensavers that I currently have on my device.

Sure wish the readers had color. Wonder when that'll happen.

I'm looking forward to color too but not sure when it'll happen. I know for myself it's going to be another few years before I buy another device. It will be interesting to see what happens in the meantime. :)

I saw an interview with one of the people behind the Kindle on Charlie Rose, and he said that "color ink" is expensive to produce and it would make the product too pricey to be competitive with things like the iPad and other high end products. So, it might be a while before color is used. My problem with that is if you download a magazine, the pictures are all black and white and I'm a color kind of gal.

I think this is why I stick to fiction reading on the e-ink devices. Magazine reading is better left to computer monitors or 10 inch screens like on the IPad. I think the price will go down someday on color e-ink just don't know when and not sure it's of use to me? Also I'm not sure how a magazine would look like on a 6 inch screen...

That's interesting! I wonder if it can be done with Astak EZ Reader with the lbook firmware?

I have no clue if it has that feature. But I know on my PRS-505 when it went on standby mode it just had a blank screen and the 650 came with landscape images right out of the box.

Nice! Have you heard of any way to put screensavers on iPhones/Touches?

I haven't. I thought they'd have their own desktops or sleep modes that'll show artwork while sleeping? I'm not sure how the devices work to be honest.
