Home again!

I'm back from visiting my family in Texas. It was loud, I ate a ton of awesome food, and my niece can talk! I'm glad I had the chance to visit. :) Having said that, it's still kind of nice to be back home again. I missed my cats.
In other news, I'm still applying for jobs. Tomorrow I'm going to revise my resume again to see if I can make it better. I'm trying to stay optimistic and positive about finding a job and there are days I feel overwhelmed and it's all I can do to not give up. My husband has been awesome and supportive. He listens and encourages me to not give up.
I'm also graduating December 16. It's taken me two and half years to reach this point and it will be nice to be finished with school. :)

Date: 2011-12-07 01:08 pm (UTC)I understand your pain re: job searching. Ugh. A friend of mine said to me the other day: "I thought an MFA was the world's most useless degree, too, but I got a job 2 weeks after graduating." And I was, like, "That was SEVEN YEARS AGO, when things were normal."

Date: 2011-12-07 08:02 pm (UTC)I also read in the news that many people with computer science degrees are having a tough time finding work. My uncle has that degree and about 8 years ago he got about 12 interviews before picking a job. And on his last job change he'd applied for months for work and only got about two interviews. Also the pay isn't all that great but slightly better than what he was making at his previous place of employment.
