amalthiaLast night I baked cookies. the Skor's Toffee bit cookies and they taste so good. I'm amazed that they actually came out all right. I've baked cookies before and there have been more than a few disastors. Like me trying to take them off the hot cookie sheet and end up with a ball of cookie that actually tasted all right, it just didn't look like a cookie. Or burnt cookies. These ones are great, they are circles, okay some are stuck together, but they are soft and chewy and taste great. I guess following the directions to the letter really does work. :)
I just need to try and not eat them all at once, it took me over an hour to make these cookies (though it wasn't so bad because i was watching the directory commentary of Firefly, episode Serenity. I am so addicted to this tv series) and I almost burnt my hands a few times, and I know my own kitchen does not have vanilla extract or baking soda....or the amount of cookie sheets my mom owns. Or the spray stuff you use to grease the pans, for anyone who's forgot to use it....you know how important that stuff is if you want your cookie sheet to stay clean. Cleaning off cooked on cookie dough is not easy, same goes for burnt cheese.
Anyway, I'm impressed with my baking skills. :) Okay I'm having a nice day, I can't wait to see Stargate and the Harry Potter book is coming out tonight. :) even if I can't pick up a copy I know in a few days it'll be aviable in every bookstore in america by the end of the week. Did I mention Christmas already???
