Once Upon a Time

I'm finally caught up with Once Upon a Time and at first I wasn't sure if I was enjoying the show but after the last episode I really can't wait to see what they do next. I think I tend to enjoy TV more when I can watch two or three episodes at a time.

Is anyone else on my flist watching??? I'm adding a cut for potential spoilers.


I'm surprised there isn't more meta about this show and I was shocked that they killed Graham. I loved his back story and yikes he did not have a good ending even in the fairy tale verse. I was not expecting that the Queen would rape the Huntsman. (that's how I viewed their interaction in the bedroom. I'm also now wondering if Rumpelstiltskin has his memories like the Queen?

All in all, I'm certainly enjoying this show more than expected.

I got the sense that he did as well, though I don't know as there's been anything so far that confirmed he remembers.

I've been enjoying the show but haven't been looking for any discussion or fanworks on it. I guess it hasn't reached that tipping point for me :)

I am too! I'm loving.the girl power - it was kind of fascinating to see the guy being the expendable character for once.

There's a good amount.of.meta over on the televisionwitthoutpity forums, including the speculation on which fairy tale is going to be popping up in which backstory. And I do think Mr Gold remembers - its his curse, right?

I should check out TWOP forums to see what people are saying about the show. I didn't know it was Mr. Gold's curse, I thought he just knew about it.

The Queen got it from Mr Gold/Rumple (and had to go back to him to figure out how to make it work). So it was his at one point - but he probably got it as part of a "deal" from someone else...

The other interesting speculation is about the Queen's last name - Mills. Many think this makes her the "miller's daughter" of the Rumplestiltskin story where a miller lies to a king and tells him his daughter can spin straw into gold. Eventually she gets out of it by learning Rumplestiltskin's name.

In any case, I'm waiting anxiously to see how they work this whole thing out - and what in the world they would do with a second season! Maybe they all get sucked into another alternate universe in Wales? I'm fascinated!

That's a good point about the queen's last name. I'm also curious to see where they go with the story. I just sort of hope they don't drag out the breaking of the curse for 7 years. :)

I wanted to get into this show, but at first it was too saccharine, then it came up against other things in my life, then I fell behind with the on demand programs :(
I want to watch it, though. And I agree with treewishes, I'm glad the guy was found to be expendable.
