Am I the only one who liked the movie Constantine? Or saw some parts of the movie as erotic?

I saw Constantine yesterday and I really enjoyed the movie and I'm not sure why the critics hate it. Normally, my tastes in movies runs along the same lines as the critics but this time they diverge.

I think someone wrote that Reeve's character was sort of flat....well what the hell did they expect from a guy who knows he's going to hell in a couple of months, singing and dancing??? or melodraumatics like Alexander the Great??? I thought going low key worked well with the overall tone of the movie.

I know a lot of people who don't like it because it's nothing like the comics. John Constantine was suppose to be a Brit apparently. My friend was like "they just should have changed all the names and never made it part of the Hellblazer series". So yeah.... I donno I haven't seen it yet.

I never read the comics for it, so I guess that helped me enjoy the movie more. But maybe I should check them out. I liked the concept. :)

i don't think i want to go see it just because i love hellblazer. i know the comic is one thing and the movie is another, but it's just too close to my heart to see it changed so much.

that's okay with me. :) I'm a Reeves fan and I love occult type movies, so this was right up my alley. :) I also really like Rachel Weiss as an actress. :)

Maybe I should try and download the comics for hellblazer, a lot of people say it's a good comic.

I is. I got into it through Neil Gaiman's "book of magic" (about a certain boy with an owl who discovers that he's a wizard, though written long before HP)

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm just going to randomly speculate that Keanu might have been trying to do the Mulder-monotone thing.

lol, I liked Mulder's mono-tone acting. :) hehe I don't think Reeves was flat at all. I could see the emotions on his face, it was more subtle but I liked it more that way. Too much melodrama would have sucked.
