BSG and SG-1
Sep. 17th, 2005 04:22 pmBefore I read anyone else's thoughts about the episodes, I figured it may help to say what I think first. :) Basically, squeeing, I have no real depth of thought when it comes to my initial reactions the episodes.

First BSG was excellent. I loved that Chief Tyrol and Helo had that fight, that looked a lot like it was over Sharon. Chief Tyrol still loves her. There was so much about this episode I loved. The part where Sharon saves the day, and then Commander Adama calling her a thing. Ouch.
I also loved the part in the firing range, and the maybe tension between Dualla and Apollo, I hope they don't go there. I really think Dualla and Billy should stick together.
I'm looking forward to next weeks episode. :) Anyway, BSG is great, I haven't been bored once watching this. Did I mention I loved Gaeta's outburst? I also love that he has tattoos, he seems so competent (i love that about him) I mean he's the officer I wish I could be like if I were in the military. For some reason, his calm control (most of the times) is a big turn on. So seeing him lose it was a big deal. Commander Adama rules, I loved his "pull yourself together" and that was it. I love him. I mean he just excludes control and command.
Okay, SG-1....Prototype....
this is the Stargate I've been missing since the season started....Though I'm surprised they haven't thought about putting their own people in that machine to upgrade SG personnel ...it's what I would have considered. Um not much else to say about the episode, except I was surprised that Daniel was the first to say, "Kill the guy" okay he didn't say it like that...but it took me by surprise. I think Daniel is starting to channel Jack.
I loved Robert Picardo's performance, I love this man, he's such a good actor. He's one of the main reasons I kept watching Voyager as long as I watched it. Though I hate that the outsiders who come to the SGC are always WRONG in their decisions. For once I'd like to see one of these outside observers be right in their assessment of a situation. Though it does appear the brain scans "may" help in future studies. it just sucks that some soldiers had to die. And is it just me or does this season feel like it's getting a higher body count? or am I just now noticing how many people die in the line of duty?
Four Horseman....I liked that Orlin came back as a kid, and that Brytac was in this episode. I love outbreak type stories, but it's still a damn shame that no one else on earth really knows about the stargate program. and btw...why wasn't Lam infected??? Did she give the SG team the physicals or was that another set of doctors? I don't think they give them physicals in haz-mat suits. So she should have been infected, same with Daniel and Mitchell. I mean I doubt everyone on board the plane touched each other. Unless the first mutation of the virus was only transmitted by physical touch and later mutations went airborne...that's the only explanation I can come up with.
Anyway, I enjoyed the episode. The Ori are annoying as an enemy because I feel frustrated watching. It's like there's nothing the good guys can do and I'm not really surprised that so many people are falling to the dark side, I mean come on people on our planet believe a book that was written 2000 years ago and I haven't seen any miracles lately to support people's continued belief in a God. So I can see why the bad guys are winning this, but I'm surprised there aren't more religious fanatics who are gung-ho for their own religion. I mean Christians and Muslims are more than willing to die for their beliefs, why aren't people on these other planets the SGC are visiting? or is it that everyone in the galaxy was subjugated by the Gou'ld for so long that there is no other religion? I also want to see how the Nox handle the Ori? Would the Ori even bother with them, and why haven't the humans called in the Asgard for help? I mean I think the asgard may have the technology to come up with solutions to human virus's and they should be safe since they don't share the same genetics. I'm just surprised that the only ally they've called upon, they didn't really call for.
Okay so if I turn my brain off this was a good episode. I liked the interaction with Daniel and Cameron at the beginning, I think they could maybe be slashed, except you don't really see them working together that much or have any real personal moments together. Though the basketball playing is a good sign that they are spending some time together that's not work related.
I like Dr. Lee a lot. :) Sam was good in this episode and the creepy kid from Godsend (think that's the correct title) wasn't as annoying as I thought he'd be.
well that's everything I can think of right now. I'll probably get some other ideas after reading everyone else's opinion. But this week I wanted to try to write down what I thought first to see if reading other people's reactions influences my own opinions about the episodes. Though really I don't think anyone can say anything that will make me change my mind about how great Battlestar Galactica is.
