Just have to thank my friend Kerfect/Jaypaige for recommending this TV series, I'm having such a great time watching it, for once a show with character development!!! :)

I've only seen a few eps of Lost, but I couldn't get into it. I think it's because some of the actors are either Australian or NZ, and this reminds me of the invasion of cheap Aussie TV in the mid-90s. This impression is re-inforced by the production style, which gives Lost a bit of a "Reality TV" feel - though certainly not as bad as some shows. I watch TV for unreality, though, so I find camera gestures intended to mimic reality (flourescent lighting, jerky camera movements, etc.), really annoying.

That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy Lost. Someone would have to sell me past the above first impression, though.

I don't mind the Australian/NZ actors, I actually think they all do an okay job. I think I thought it looked like reality TV set up for about a minute...but...after the first two or three episodes I stopped noticing that and really got into the story and the characters and trying to figure out what is going on, on the island and it's kind of interesting to find out what these survivors were doing prior to getting on the airplane.

It does not hurt that I find Ian Summerhold/the guy who played Merry in LoTR/and a few of the other cast memembers are kind of hot, and they have the guy who was in Oz, the one in the wheelchair. I loved his performances in OZ. they have some good actors/actresses on this show and the quality is stable.

I think some of the first episodes needed to work out some kinks...I think it helped that I downloaded the first 11 episodes and watched them all in about 3 days. So I didn't have a week wait time in between.

I can forgive the flawless hair and the ruggedly handsome men in the show because the story is interesting and I find the characters intriging. :)

I'm not sure if you watched the show in order but that might have an impact on whether or not you enjoyed certain episodes, to me it seems like a show you have to watch in order, because events from each episode carry over.

It's okay if you don't like the show, I mean if you tried, you tried. :)
