Loved this episode...more behind the cut This is so odd, this is the first episode I really felt like squeeing to. I had so many OMG moments. :) it was wonderful, it was like fan fiction actually but in a good way.

Um favorite moments....I think when the blonde drops her clothes and John's all over her until he hears ruler....Rodney in the city trying to save the day. I even liked the guards with the whips and the cowering townspeople! Okay not sure what that says about me, but I kept thinking this episode has so many elements of various SGA fan fics I've read.

Um it was a lot of fun to watch. Last week I really loved Grace Under Pressure however except for the Sea MONSTER I didn't really feel any squeeing. this one was a lot of fun for some reason. I just want to know what the writers were smoking when they wrote it. Or what romance novels they've been reading.

Wow, you're the first person who's given it a positive review!

I read a couple of feedback and they all say it sucked which didn't make me happy. I normally like all the episodes but I'm not a very discerning viewer... I did read about that scene though - and I could just picutre in my mind a million anti-Kirk supporters sharpening their knives.

I'm probably one of the few who doesn't really notice Sheppard and his Kirkness... he cracks me up half the time.

Thanks for the headsup - I don't know when I'll get the file but the torrent's a bit dead at the moment :D

Well, I finally gotten around to seeing it. Hmm, not the best episode around but good for laughs... I'm probably one of the few who doesn't mind the Kirk thing!

Still the wardrobe and lines had me cracking up. But I was too busy staring at the black tees... and those sunnies John was wearing. They are so 80s!

You're right though - it is very reminiscent of fan fics! John really really cracks me up - I laughed my head off when he was with the blond girl because it was just so cheesy! And I just knew he would go back to get her.

As for Rodney, he just impresses me more than ever. Claustrophobic that he is, he still jumped into a tunnel and his whining is definitely getting less. And I loved the way Teyla tells him off... she's fantastic! And of course no complains about Rodney in his tee...

Ronon too - his fight sequences are cute. But why won't he hold Rodney's hand? That was cute.

I was going to ask if you mind if I added you to my f-list?

Also finally got that xilisoft thingy working but it was be the way the DVD is encoded because it's ripped every damn thing on it and still can't locate the audio commentaries. Yet, when I play the disc, I can hear them!

Have to think about this for a while though.

Ta,
Alex

My sentiments exactly! If they were trying to make it serious, then dear Lord... it didn't work coz I was too busy laughing.

Yes I agree there are probably quite a number of people unhappy with the whole Kirk routine. I've read quite a number of people expressing dissatisfaction with the Sheppard and girl routine and many feel this just undervalues his character and Joe's acting skills. This is why I have avoided reading the reviews in Gateworld.

The only thing I would ask for : is give the girls a chance - maybe Teyla and/or Elizabeth should also get the opportunity to meet a nice, intelligent and good-looking alien man... I know that Torri said she wouldn't mind someone for her character only because Weir can't "liaise" with a subordinate.

But I reckon that perhaps the next couple of episodes will deal with more "serious" matters (except maybe the Long Kiss Goodbye - which David has said that he really enjoyed filming and that he thought it was funny but then that's David being well, David!).

From your description of the software, it sounds like the Region 1 DVDs may be set up differently. I'll look at it again tonight - but what you described doesn't sound right to me! At least it's not what I'm seeing on my screen.

Thanks for the help :D

It seemed kind of like they walked into a Shakespeare production on crack :P

The episode was silly. And alot of it predictable. But it was fun. I really enjoyed it.

I am sad that there was no Zelenka though :(

Mckay was just droolworthy *snicker* with his trustworthy guide and all, just really good. But, well, you are so right, I had to think of a Stargate Atlantis/Lord of the rings crossover I read back in the day and, well, I think the guys who wrote this really read the same story, because it was so obviously done like some of the Fanfictions on crack out there.

You are right with what you say about John, it's just adorable, but really, really too much into his role as Pegasus version of Captain Kirk. Lt. Colonel Kirk i mean. Which annoyed me a bit, because they really don't need to play with that cliche so much, or at least give the others some action too. Anyway, Carson was adorable "I should really stop doing housecalls" or something smoothed out the whole Shakespearian (is that right? is that even a word?) crap, anyway, and simply from the position of the art student; decorating Atlantis like a french whorehouse out of the 16century really, really was no whise thing to do. *jeez*

Do I rant too much? Well, yes I do. But at least we have Mckay and Ronon to smooth other things.
